I get the following error when attempting to download a book:
This site can’t provide a secure connection

lending.us.archive.org sent an invalid response.
ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

I can read the book, but can't download it? I have Adobe Digital Editions installed, and can successfully download epubs from my public library.

I am a newbie to this site, so I may be missing something obvious.

Thanks.

You must disable any extensions related to "HTTPS".

Thanks for the advice. In Firefox I also use HTTPS and its not disabled when I attempt to download. I just downloaded a book a few days ago using Firefox with HTTPS active. There was no problem with the download.

Still makes me think it's Chrome, but I could be wrong.

Thanks again.

I have discovered the source of this error. Apparently it's the Chrome browser, which I use. I was able to download the acsm file without difficulty when I used the Firefox browser. Hope this saves someone else the frustration I've experienced.

So we pretty much can't download with Chrome? I'm pretty sure this used to work a few months back as I have some downloaded PDFs. Is there another fix to this? Maybe clearing cookies?

Same problem. Running Firefox 60.0.2 (64-bit) on Linux Mint with HTTPS everywhere plugin (either enabled or disabled). When I click on download "Encrypted Adobe PDF" or Encrypted Adobe epub", the page looks up and attempts to connect to lending6.us.archive.org. Then if fails with:
" The server at lending6.us.archive.org is taking too long to respond."
Scripts are allowed, and the cache/cookies cleared at the end of every session.

I also tried it via Edge Browser on a Win10 virtual machine - same problem.
I have no problem downloading acsm files from my local library website.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am experiencing the same issue, it appears that server is down, nothing to do with the browser, I tried a ping.
